We partnered with a Singapore-based tingkat food delivery brand to create a seamless eCommerce platform that supports their unique business model. The website needed to cater to families and working professionals seeking convenient meal plans, with options for Regular and Healthy menus. Customers can select from 5-day, 10-day, or 20-day packages, customize pax sizes from 2 to 8, choose dish configurations, split between white and brown rice, and add dietary preferences or delivery instructions. Our goal was to translate a traditionally complex ordering process into a simple, intuitive online experience that encourages conversions and builds customer trust.
The core challenge lay in balancing business complexity with user simplicity. The tingkat model demanded multiple layers of customization: meal categories, durations, pax sizes, dish combinations, rice allocations, dietary remarks, and flexible delivery schedules. On top of that, delivery coverage involved varied pricing — some zones were surcharge areas, while others were excluded entirely. The website had to process all these rules without overwhelming the customer, while still giving the kitchen and logistics teams precise, actionable data. Ensuring accuracy, mobile responsiveness, and ease of management in the backend added another layer of technical and operational difficulty.
Our team designed and developed a WooCommerce-powered eCommerce platform enhanced with custom JavaScript to manage real-time product variations, rice allocation validation, and weekday delivery exclusions. A postcode-based delivery module was built to automatically handle normal, surcharge, or blocked zones. Dietary remarks and preferences are captured at the order level, ensuring the kitchen receives complete instructions.
